What “IS” Feminism?

Via CHICKS ON THE RIGHT

Liberal feminists like Ashley Judd want you to think there’s a Republican “War on Women.” They are wrong. They are hypocrites. They perpetuate the very “hypersexualization of women” that they complain about, while they use their sexuality to heighten their fame and fortune.

An extended version of this would include REAL feminists – like Malala Yousafzai – those who fight courageously for women’s rights, and NOT people like Sandra Fluke – who just want to whine about someone else paying for their birth control.

Rise up, conservative women. You’re better than the liberal harpies who insist you’re a victim. You don’t need the government to be your sugar daddy any more than you need a man to be.

Not “American Feminists” who cozy up to religious misogynists/abusers of children and females:

This has been a burning topic in my mind for quite some time. The reason being is that while Bush was President I was told all the time (by the Left) about his apparent connections to Wahhabism via Saudi Arabia… and how we shouldn’t support a President who has these ties. The Ground Zero mosque Imam said he would take funds from any country, and now he is a hero of the Left. Odd. This Imam has already accepted money from known terrorist funding conspirators and I am sure as the money trail is followed, more will come to light. A great article on Front Page Magazine stirs this up again in me. I will post some ideas to maybe get this topic stirred in your mind as well. Could you imagine though, if the Catholic Church executed homosexuals in 5 or 6 countries and then they wanted to build a catholic college on the site where Matthew Shepard was killed. WOW! The outcry from the Left would be deafening. (CAUTION, language in the following video.)

Leftist would rather support dictatorial leaning murderers rather than true feminists fighting for real equality:

Here is a great interview of Christina Hoff Sommers speaking to “what feminism truly is,” one FREE OF POLITICAL MYTHS — via the Rubin Report:

France Entering Into African Theatre to Fight Back Islamists

“By Monday at the latest, the troops will be there or will have started to arrive,” said Ali Coulibaly, Ivory Coast’s African Integration Minister. “Things are accelerating … The reconquest of the north has already begun.” …. A spokesman for one of Mali’s rebel groups, Ansar Dine, warned that France’s intervention would have repercussions. “There are consequences, not only for French hostages, but also for all French citizens wherever they find themselves in the Muslim world,” Sanda Ould Boumama said. — Reuters

French Mirage 3000

I am sure we will see France’s large Islamists population start to cause a ruckus (beheadings?) in France. The other African nations are down because they see the dangerous fascist doctrine coming to them already or soon.

France bombs Mali rebels as more troops arrive in Bamako

BAMAKO/PARIS (Reuters) – French fighter jets bombed Islamist rebels in Mali for a third day on Sunday as Paris poured more troops into the capital Bamako, awaiting the arrival of a West African force to dislodge al Qaeda-linked insurgents from the country’s north.

French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said France’s dramatic intervention on Friday to bomb a convoy of heavily armed Islamist fighters sweeping southwards had stopped them from seizing Mali’s capital Bamako within days.

Western countries fear Islamists could use Mali as a base for attacks on the West, forming a link with al Qaeda militants in Yemen, Somalia and North Africa….

[….]

A French pilot was killed on Friday when rebels in Mali shot down his helicopter.

President Francois Hollande has made it clear that France’s aim in Mali is to support the deployment of a West African mission to retake the north, endorsed by the United Nations, the European Union and the United States.

The 15-nation West African bloc ECOWAS convened a summit for Saturday in Ivory Coast to discuss the military campaign.

With Paris pressing West African nations to deploy troops quickly, Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara, who holds the rotating ECOWAS chairmanship, has kick-started the operation to deploy some 3,300 African soldiers.

Ouattara was himself installed in power with French military backing in 2011 after a brief civil war triggered by former president Laurent Gbagbo’s refusal to step aside after losing a late 2010 election.

“The troops will start arriving in Bamako today and tomorrow,” Ali Coulibaly, Ivory Coast’s African Integration Minister, said. “They will be convoyed to the front at Sevare.”

HOUSE-TO-HOUSE SEARCHES

Under cover from French fighter planes and attack helicopters on Friday, Malian troops drove the Islamists out of the strategic central town of Konna, which they had seized a day earlier. A senior Malian army official said more than 100 rebel fighters had been killed.

Military analysts expressed doubt, however, that this was the start of a swift operation to retake the whole of northern Mali – a harsh, sparsely populated terrain the size of France – as neither equipment nor ground troops were ready.

In Nigeria, which will lead the ECOWAS force, a military official who asked not to be identified said it would take time to train and equip the troops.

Finally! One Of Gore`s Trained Presenters Debates A Climate Skeptic (h/t `What’s Up With That`)

(Varying audio levels) From video description: “Heartland Institute Senior Fellow James Taylor debates Ray Bellamy, M.D., a Tallahassee Orthopedic Surgeon at the Elks Club Lodge at 276 North Magnolia Drive in Tallahassee, Florida on Jan. 8, 2013.” (Posted by: Religio-Political Talk) One commentator said this of the debate:

  • Thanks Anthony. No wonder the alarmists don’t like debating. In the closing remarks, after Taylor summarises the science, Bellamy just engages in a series of ad homs against Dr Soon and Dr Singer, and then admits what he had just claimed was a direct quote was ‘paraphrased’, to a chorus of boos from the audience. Epic fail! A shame the bootlegged video ends at that point, but we may look forward to many more such debates in future. /sarc

Another said, “As an Orthopaedic surgeon myself, I am embarrassed.” Still another, “No wonder Gore sold out and cashed in…” All I have to say is thatthe only thing Gore’s student learned was to be boring.

From What’s Up With That:

————————————-
Finally, one of Gore’s trained presenters debates a climate skeptic

Finally … finally! … a person trained by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project agreed to face off in a public debate on global warming.  As WUWT readers may know, trying to get one of these folks to debate a skeptic has been an impossible task…until now. Full video follows, running about 59 minutes.

While I don’t know the details, I suspect the video quality has to do with an apparent long standing policy of Gore’s presenters refusing to allow their presentations to be video taped. My impression is that this appears to be a clandestine recording made by an audience member.

From an email I [http://wattsupwiththat.com/] received:

======================================

Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project squared off against The Heartland Institute in a global warming debate January 8 in Tallahassee, Florida. More than 260 people attended the hour-long debate, which resulted in standing room only at the Tallahassee Elks Club Lodge, which hosted the debate.

Ray Bellamy, a Florida State University faculty member who gives public presentations on behalf of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, argued humans are causing a global warming crisis. Taylor countered that global warming activists have proven none of four important factors they need to show in order to demonstrate a human-induced global warming crisis.

“I am very happy that this debate is now available on the Internet so people can see the for themselves, without having to wade through media filters, who possesses and presents the best evidence in a fair and balanced debate,” said Taylor.

“I encourage people to watch the debate and then share it with friends, family and acquaintances. So long as people have access to the truth, I believe the truth will always prevail,” said Taylor.

`Reality Check` of Piers Morgan by Fox 19 (Cincinnati, OH)

While this video is uploaded to critique (well) Piers Morgan, it in no way should be seen as endorsement by me of Alex Jones. (Posted by: Religio-Political Talk) I think he is a nut and deal with him and many conspiracy theories on my “C-O-N Debunker Page.” Okay, on to some stats in text form via The National Review:

When it comes to the question of violent crime, the British are fairly smug. Why? Because, well, there’s less of it in Britain than in America. Bunch of cowboys over there, right?

Wrong. Per the Daily Mail:

—————–
Britain’s violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa – widely considered one of the world’s most dangerous countries.

The Tories said Labour had presided over a decade of spiralling violence.

In the decade following the party’s election in 1997, the number of recorded violent attacks soared by 77 per cent to 1.158million – or more than two every minute.
—————–

According to the Mail, Britons suffer 1,158,957 violent crimes per year, which works out at 2,034 per 100,000 residents. By contrast the number in notoriously violent South Africa is 1,609 per 100,000.

The U.S., meanwhile, has a rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, which is lower than France’s, at 504; Finland’s, at 738; Sweden’s, at 1123; and Canada’s at 935.

Ben Shapiro Wipes the Floor with Piers Morgan

(Gateway Pundit) This was textbook material Ben Shapiro was on with Piers Morgan tonight to discuss his new book “Bullies: How the Left’s Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences America” and talk gun control. Right from the start of the interview Ben took it to the anti-gun bully – calling him a bully. And, it was all downhill for Piers for the next 13 minutes.

Breitbart writes about Larry Kings comments about Piers:

For those who remember, Larry King was more about being a conduit for the guests to entertain and enlighten viewers. His idea, perhaps an old fashioned TV ideal, was to make the show less about Larry King and more about the guests his viewers tuned in to watch.

King was old school in that way. We never learned much about the life or personal opinions of Jack Parr or Johnny Carson when they were hosting the Tonight Show, either. Those two icons let the guests speak and made their shows about the entertainment. For the most part, Larry King modeled himself on that classic version of the TV interview show.

But Larry King was quick to point out that Piers Morgan isn’t like that at all. Morgan is more about Morgan than he is about the guests, King said.

“I never gave opinions,” King said of his own CNN show. “Piers gives his opinions. The show is a lot about him as much as the guests… He’s so different from me,” King lamented.

King also worried over the state of TV today, saying, “It’s not the quality that counts anymore. It’s how loud did you yell, how vituperative can you be.”

`The Danger of Symbolic Actions` ~ Fox`s The Five Retaliates Against Gawker (as do I)

From Video Description:

(Via Media’ite) Fox’s “The Five” retaliates against Gawker’s making public the addresses of all gun owners in NY by giving out the phone number of Gawkers founder, Nick Denton, which is (for now):

What would be nice is for someone to post online his home address. Greg Gutfeld makes the point that Gawker writes positively about pedophilia, but negatively about legal gun-owners. (Pedophilia is one of the traumas in children’s lives that drive many to homosexuality, and many in the community want to normalize this somewhat in order to validate their not dealing with this traumatic event in their lives. This, they feel, normalizes them into culture, or is some form of validation)

I will continue to post information here on this topic (addresses and haunts Nick Denton and friends like to hang at), including on Nick’s boyfriend, Derrence Washington. His FaceBook is found here for those wishing to see if he will field questions about Nick’s actions: http://www.facebook.com/derrence

Derrence lives in New York:

Again, I will update this post as I find info. I assume these Texas residence are Derrence’s family since he himself is a Houston, Texas native. Here are a few family members Face-Book profiles:

What is interesting is that many of his family members have studied criminal justice, and I would bet own firearms. I feel bad as well for making public these people — many are fellow believers (at least a cursory look would tell me that. As you know, anyone can “say” they are Christian). At any rate, one should keep all the people in New York who are now known by criminals to not own guns, those who are in law enforcement (D.A.’s, policemen and women, judges, special crime units [gang units], and the like) whom criminals know their home addresses… as well as Nick and Derrence’s friends and family in prayer. Pray for their safety and well being. Why do I say that, because any address is easy to find once you have a name and city. I and my family can likewise go for some pleading of the precious blood of the lamb.

Some info on Voncile Washington-Durio, her phone number is 1-832-483-9575 — dial *67 before you dial the number to make your phone or cell phone show up as private. She lives or did live here:

the number, again, Voncile’s phone number can be seen here on a contact list at a kids sport team contact list. She is also a barber who’s barber license number is 08122012. She also performs public notaries for those needing her services:

Voncile Washington Durio is a certified public notary located in Houston, TX Voncile Washington Durio is located at 7206 Frostview Ln. Voncile Washington Durio can be contacted at on FindNotary or by their phone number or email address listed above.

Derrence? Do you have your boyfriend’s ear?

The Working Poor Hit hardest by Obama `CARE`

From Video Description:

Gateway Pundit mentions that thanks to Barack Obama and Democrats, the poor (financially that is) Taco Bell workers will suffer and lose work hours. The Taco Bell in Guthrie, Oklahoma cut its employees’ hours due to Obamacare. (Posted by: Religio-Political Talk)

Yahoo News also mentions that Wendy’s is the latest to follow suit:

Count Wendy’s as the latest fast-food restaurant to respond to Obamacare with a reduction in worker hours. Following some other chains that have made headlines recently, a Wendy’s franchise owner in Omaha, Neb., told about 100 workers in the area that their hours would be cut in anticipation of mandates in the Affordable Care Act (ACA)….

All these egalitarian people that think they are helping are not. For instance, the cost of health care (according to Obama) was suppose to come down… immediately. In fact, the Affordable Care Act is making health insurance rates rise (HotAir). Even BIG supporters of Obama’s campaign are laying people off and closing plants that produce medical equipment because of the cost of Obama-Care (Breitbart). Again, a favored quote of mine comes to mind:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” ~ CS Lewis

Or put another way, when the cute bunnies attacked in “Search for the Holy Grail,” “RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!”

`Gore Called ME A Sellout, But Look At Him Now!` ~ GERALDO RIVERA

GERALDO RIVERA:

….Now, I knew Al Gore, I’d interviewed him several times, I was President Clinton’s principal defender during impeachment, so I’d got to know Al Gore, so I meet him in the Fox News lobby, he looks me up and down — and this is to your point, Bill Kristol, on him being sanctimonious — he looks me up and down and he says, ‘Well, look where you ended up,’ ’cause I had gone from NBC News to Fox News, and then he said, and I remember it so clearly, ‘I guess you’ll never bite the hand that feeds you,’ meaning that I had sold out to conservatives for money…. He really just [’tisked-tisked’] me in front of Al Franken in a way that left no doubt that he was feeling very morally superior. The fact is, I didn’t change. He changed. He took the short money from Big Oil [for Current TV].

A Simple Example To Show Who Has the Countries Best interest In Mind

President Obama passed an Executive Order making a federal pay raise mandatory, which includes Congress.

Congress (the House, where all spending bills are supposed to have their origin) voted DOWN their own pay raise. The split was 287 to 129, with 55 Democrats voting with the majority of Republicans.

I did the math: 136 Dems voted to approve the pay increase, with only 8 Republicans joining them for this increase in a fiscal crisis. This mean 232 Republicans voted for NO increase. Yay fiscally sound conservatives! I was glad to look into this. And of course I would say Republicans are again on the right side of history in these matters… too bad the country is not.

Much thought and a little math.

Chris Christie Blames Boehner for Holding Up Hurricane Relief Bill ~ Dennis Prager

 From Video Description:

Dennis Prager comments on all the addition pork heaped on an otherwise good bill to help relive the financial burden due to the recent Hurricane on the East Coast.  What is in the bill?

TOWNHALL (http://tinyurl.com/aaf94t6):
——————

The pork-barrel feast includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. It also includes a whopping $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC.

An eye-popping $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

Other big-ticket items in the bill include $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center; $41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storm’s path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; $4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida; $3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.

Budget watchdogs have dubbed the 94-page emergency-spending bill “Sandy Scam.”

More:

★ $58.8 million for forest restoration on private land.
★ $197 million “to… protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.”
★ $10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief.
★ $17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program.

HOTAIR ~ Left Leaning Mayor BLOOMBERG (http://tinyurl.com/b64h8ne):
————————-

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who previously declined to slam House Speaker John Boehner over Congress’ stalled Hurricane Sandy aid, took his argument to the next level this morning and suggested federal lawmakers are partially to blame for the delay in the vote on the package because they insert “things that are totally extraneous” into bills such as this. Although Mr. Bloomberg didn’t specify the extraneous problem items, the legislation has been criticized by Republicans like Rep. Paul Ryan for being “packed with funding for unrelated items, such as commercial fisheries in American Samoa and roof repair of museums in Washington, D.C.”

“There’s this ‘Christmas Tree effect’ where legislators put in their favorite bills and tack them onto something. The [Obama] administration does that, that’s why you have an omnibus bill–to force everybody to vote for things that would never stand up in the light of day if they were individual,” Mr. Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show with John Gambling. “I’m sympathetic. Yelling and screaming at [Mr. Boehner] is just not my style. It may be effective, it may not be. Everybody’s got to make their own decisions. I think the legislative leaders who criticize and those in the Legislature should stop and think, they do exactly the same thing in terms of ladling on things that are totally extraneous but it’s the only way they get them through.”

WALL STREET JOURNAL (http://tinyurl.com/axuethf):
————————————–

…Look at some of what was in the $60 billion bill: $150 million for Alaskan fisheries; $2 million for roof repair at the Smithsonian in Washington; and about $17 billion for liberal activists under the guise of “community development” funds and so-called social service grants. Far from being must-pass legislation, this is a disgrace to the memory of the victims and could taint legitimate efforts to deal with future disasters.

California Republican Darrell Issa had it right when he told Fox News that “They had the opportunity to have a $27- to $30-billion legit relief package, packed it with pork, then dared us not to vote on it.”

Beyond the recriminations is the larger problem that every disaster has become a Washington political opportunity. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is fully funded but does an incompetent job. Federal flood insurance encourages overbuilding in storm zones, so taxpayers pay first to subsidize the insurance and then to save the homeowners who overbuilt. And politicians use the public sympathy after any disaster as an excuse to throw even more money not merely at victims but for pent-up priorities they should be funding out of regular state and local tax dollars.

Mr. Boehner’s sin was ensuring that the House had time to sort the pork from the parochial. Mr. Christie should thank him on behalf of New Jersey taxpayers.
