Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat ~ Why the Republican Brand Will Survive and Thrive
Why the Republican brand will live:
☕ It survived men in bedsheets killing those who fought for civil rights, it survived a Democrat crossing over and almost beating a Republican to death, it has survived Democrat Supreme Courts passing Dred Scott and Democrats trying to secede from the Union, we can work through this… because austerity will have to come at some point. And keep in mind that even though this was a loss, Obama shrank in electoral votes from 2008, and in the popular vote. So he won, but the Republican party grew… so the “death knell” of the party just doesn’t fit the facts. A perfect example is the female vote: Obama won a 12-point lead among women this time around. In 2008 it was 13-points. Again, the Democrats lost a point.

“Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat”
“I would say to the House, as I said to those who have joined this Government, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many long months of toil and struggle.
“You ask what is our policy. I will say, it is to wage war with all our might, with all the strength that God can give us, to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime.
“You ask what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long and hard the road may be. For without victory there is no survival.”
Winston Churchill—First speech as Prime Minister, House of Commons, 13 May 1940. Churchillfirst used the phrase “blood and sweat” in 1900; “Blood, sweat and tears” came together in his 1939 article, “Can FrancoRestore Unity and Strength to Spain.”
