Oooops! Democrats On the Wrong Side of History ~ AGAIN!
Via the Daily Caller:
While a progressive advocacy group has used the death of former South African President Nelson Mandela to advocate against voter ID laws, a picture of Mandela has surfaced that indicates the former president might not have agreed.
Friday, One Wisconsin Now issued a statement calling on Wisconsin Republicans to “honor” Mandela by stopping their “attacks on the right to vote for legal voters in the state of Wisconsin.” Those “attacks” are attempts to implement a voter identification requirement.
South Africa, however, requires an ID to vote.
Media Trackers, first highlighted the discrepancy Friday, noting that election officials in South Africa require an ID both to register to vote and to vote.
“That constitution allows for and supports a rigorous election integrity process far more stringent than anything GOP lawmakers have proposed in Wisconsin,” Media Trackers notes.
To make matters worse for One Wisconsin, a picture of Mandela from 1998 finds the former political prisoner attending a rally at the start of the African National Congress 1999 election campaign wearing a T-shirt with the instructions: “Get an ID. Register. Vote.”
Islamic `Peace` Conference Norway March 2013 ~ Yep, All Radical Extremists (UPDATED with POLL)
UPDATE from Jihad Watch (see also Breitbart):
Muslims in Europe: 75% think only one interpretation of Qur’an possible; 65% think Islamic supersedes secular law; 45% think Jews cannot be trusted
How did the Tiny Minority of Extremists get their opinions accepted by so many among the Vast Majority of Peaceful Muslims? “How widespread is Islamic fundamentalism in Western Europe?,” by Erik Voeten in the Washington Post, December 13 (thanks to all who sent this in):
One narrative about Muslim immigrants in Europe is that only a relatively small proportion holds views that are sometimes labeled as “fundamentalist.” Ruud Koopmans from the Wissenschaftszentrum in Berlin argues that this perspective is incorrect. He conducted a telephone survey of 9,000 respondents in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, and Sweden and interviewed both Turkish and Moroccan immigrants as well as a comparison group of Christians.
His first finding is that majorities of Muslim immigrants believe that there is only one interpretation of the Koran possible to which every Muslim should stick (75 percent), and that religious rules are more important than the laws of the country in which they live (65 percent). Moreover, these views are as widespread among younger Muslims as among older generations.
He then looks at hostility toward out-groups. Fifty-eight percent do not want homosexual friends, 45 percent think that Jews cannot be trusted, and 54 percent believe that the West is out to destroy Muslim culture….
[…..]
…the finding that 54 percent of Muslims in these six Western European countries believe that the West is out to destroy Muslim culture can hardly be ignored. A Dutch newspaper, Trouw, cites Arabist Jan Jaap de Ruiter who argues that Muslims have a tendency to give “socially desirable” answers to survey questions. Even if this is true, I’d still be very concerned that the apparent socially desirable answer is that Jews should not be trusted and that the West is out to get Muslims. An added concern is the absence of generational differences in the survey responses; suggesting that this is not an issue that is likely to go away any time soon.
Indeed not. But be careful, Voeten. Talking about this too much will get you branded “racist” and “Islamophobic,” even as you try to hedge around that possibility by tarring as “extremist” those who, like Geert Wilders, are trying to address this problem realistically.

Censorship by Labels
Whenever a conservative talks of Islam, Obama, Healthcare, education, our faith, protecting life, immigration, size of government, etc, etc, etc, we hear, “sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, racist, bigoted” (SIXHIRB). This is meant to shut down discussion. Who controls this narrative? (See documentary for more examples: http://www.mrctv.org/
Muhammad Countering Liberal Press ~ Jesus Was [Is] White
Slam! Gateway Pundit points out that even Muhammad thought Jesus was white… will the left leaning media critique Islam as multicultural racists!
The liberal media blasted FOX News host Megyn Kelly for saying Jesus and Santa were white men. (historical ~ facts)
They had to do something. She’s beautiful, talented, smart, level-headed and too damned popular.
Apparently, they forgot Mohammad said Jesus was a white man, too. Liberals constantly defend Islam and won’t say disparaging things about prophet Muhammad, but did you know Muhammad described Jesus Christ as a very fair-skinned white man?
Are Liberals going attack the Prophet Muhammad, too? And remember Muhammad was from the Middle East and an Arab. Not all Middle Easterners are dark. That would be racist to claim that. In fact Muhammad was described as white man with a reddish tint in Islamic text.

Putin`s Press
Some freedom of press news via Bloomberg:
President Vladimir Putin tightened his grip on Russia’s news media by abolishing the RIA Novosti wire service and handing control of its successor to a controversial televison anchor.
[….]
Putin has been criticized for rolling back press freedoms and increasing state ownership of the country’s mass media. The decision to eliminate RIA, which was founded days after Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, comes two weeks after billionaire Vladimir Potanin sold his media business to a group backed by OAO Gazprombank.
“There’s been a consolidation in the media that’s involved in outwardly directed propaganda,” Boris Makarenko, deputy director of the Moscow-based Center for Political Technologies, said today by phone. “The holding’s new boss wasn’t an accidental choice. They’ve taken a person with the ethos of a Soviet-era propagandist, not a journalist.”
Russia was ranked 148th among 179 countries in a 2013 Press Freedom Index by Reporters Without Borders, a monitoring group based in Paris.

`A Very Proud Socialist` from the Peaceful, Tolerant, Social-Justice Crowd Strikes Again
Wait. I don’t understand… if Sarah Palin draws targets on a map for important Democratic races, and she is tied with violence via the shooter of Gabrielle Giffords (via the flyer to the right). Then at what point is the press responsible for the wild accusations they make?
RightWing News has a few quotes to make the point:
- “These teabag bastards, who by the way, I just wish they would all go away, or like in Passover, I just wish there was an angel of the Lord that would pass over, instead of killing the first born in all the households of Egypt, just wipe out all the teabaggers. Just, you know, the terrible swift sword, just (Malloy emulates sound of sword cutting repeatedly through the air) lop their heads off.” — Mike Malloy
- “They want to put y’all back in chains!” — Joe Biden
- “The land on which they [the Founders] formed this Union was stolen. The hands with which they built this nation were enslaved. The women who birthed the citizens of the nation are second class….This is the imperfect fabric of our nation, at times we’ve torn and stained it, and at other moments, we mend and repair it. But it’s ours, all of it. The imperialism, the genocide, the slavery, also the liberation and the hope and the deeply American belief that our best days still lie ahead of us.” — Melissa Harris-Perry

- “That really bothered me. You notice (Romney) said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the ‘otherization,’ he’s not like us. I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is ‘niggerization.’” — Touré
Here is a short list as well from NewsBusters:
So MSNBC contributor Melissa Harris-Perry said conservatives romanticize the Confederacy as a time “where black people knew their place.” Olbermann accused conservatives of “sanitizing secession” to ignore slavery. Matthews suggested that opposition to ObamaCare had “Republicans on the right talking like antebellum southerners,” and called appeals to federalism as “code” for racism. Lawrence O’Donnell characterized Arizona legislation as a “new sort of secession bill.” Maddow stressed that it was “important that Republican governors keep” commemorating Virginia’s role in the Civil War, and guest Julian Bond wondered at Virginia’s “canine-like affection for the Confederacy.”
Breitbart starts to paint a picture for us about the shooter
…The Denver Post reports that Pierson had “very strong political beliefs” and that one Facebook post he authored tore into Republicans as the political party that wanted to let people die:
“[Y]ou republicans are so cute” his post reads, with an image that says: “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ’em Die, Climate Change: Let ’em Die, Gun Violence: Let ’em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ’em Die, More War: Let ’em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?”
Pierson also described himself in a Facebook post as “Keynesian” when it came to economic thinking, and criticized free market thinkers:
In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as “Keynesian.”
Pierson’s classmates described the suspected gunman’s political beliefs as “outside the mainstream,” and Pierson as “an outspoken kid about what he believed and a good political thinker.” Another classmate said Pierson held “very strong beliefs about gun laws.”
The Los Angeles Times quotes friends who described Pierson as an advocate for gun rights. In its lengthy report, The Los Angeles Times does not, however, include the information about the Facebook posts wherein Pierson describes himself as Keynesian or mocks Republicans as wanting people to die…
[….]
More bad news for the media came in the gunman’s weapon of choice: a shotgun, which is also Vice President Joe Biden’s weapon of choice….
And Gateway Pundit begins to paint a picture of the media:
After thinking things over, the Denver Post decided to delete the fact that Arapahoe School shooter Kark Pierson was a committed socialist from their news report. This is from the original article:
And, here is the updated article, sans “socialist.”
Of course this goes with the LONG list of violent leftists shooters, as my “BIO’s” at my old site and my new site show. Here are more examples of edited parts of the story that has been built about this shooter… why edit this stuff out? Unless you are shamed that the shooter is giving what you believe in (as most journalists and editors at major newspapers do) a bad name.
The below comes via the I.J. Review, in a piece entitled: “Denver Post Shamefully Omits Key Detail About Arapahoe High Shooter,” the emphasized portions were removed:
