Senate Takeover?!? (?House and Senate?)

Libertarian Republican h/t:

Three hateful ultra-liberals are now extremely vulnerable according to Democrat strategist Stuart Rothenberg. He blogs:

Right now, Democrats look poised to lose five to eight seats, and any net loss short of that would have to be regarded with relief by Democratic strategists.

Moving from the Lean Democrat category to “Toss-up”:

Toss-Up/Tilt Democrat ( 0 R, 3 D)

Boxer (D-CA)

Feingold (D-WI)

Murray (D-WA)

With help from Independent and 2008 McCain supporter Sen. Joe Lieberman, a sweep of 8 seats by the Republicans could hand the GOP a Senate majority…

Cedra Creshaw On Ballot In Chicago (1st Round Won In Chicago Political Machine)

Yesterday, Cedra Crenshaw defeated the Chicago Democrat machine and won her rightful spot on the ballot this November. Voters in Illinois’ 43rd Senate District will now get a choice, not a coronation. A white Democrat election board threw her off the ballot and a judge restored her. Through it all, the NAACP was AWOL. (BigGov)

Record Number of Governorships – GOP

Election 2010 News – HotAir, the following stats go well with a previous story:

As Democrats brace for a Republican pullback in the 2010 election cycle, the question on the minds of officeholders, party leaders, and D.C prognosticators is not whether the GOP will gain seats in the midterm elections across state and federal legislative and executive offices, but how many.

While the Republican Revolution of 1994 is perhaps most remembered for the tremendous gains the GOP made to take back the U.S. House (+54 seats), Republicans also won 24 of 36 gubernatorial races that year.

But in light of the current political environment and the latest horserace polls, political reporters may need to come up with a new term in 2010 that is even more grandiose than ‘revolution’ to describe the Republican advantage this November.

A Smart Politics analysis of nearly 1,800 gubernatorial elections since the beginning of the 20th Century finds that Republicans are poised to win more gubernatorial seats in 2010 than they have in any election cycle over the past 90 years.

How many does Ostermeier believe the GOP can capture? Thirty-seven states will elect new chief executives, and current polling shows Republicans leading in 28 of them. Democrats only lead in seven. Larry Sabato sees much the same, with 19 states in the leaning or safely Republican column, compared to only five in those positions for Democrats. Ostermeier notes that Republicans lead the polling in nine of Sabato’s twelve tossups:

Of the 12 remaining ‘toss-up’ states, Republicans lead in the most recent horserace polls for nine of them: Illinois (+11, Rasmussen, June 7), Ohio (+7, Rasmussen, June 29), Maine (+7, Rasmussen, June 10), Vermont (+7, Rasmussen, June 17), Georgia (+4, Rasmussen, May 20), Colorado (+4, SurveyUSA, June 15-17), Connecticut (+2, Rasmussen, June 1), New Mexico (+2, Rasmussen, June 3), and Oregon (+2, Rasmussen, June 17).

Republicans would only have to win half of these 12 toss-up states, coupled with the 19 states in which they are favored, for their best showing since 1920.

The GOP had its best statistical decade in gubernatorial elections a century ago, when they won 60% of those contests. Last decade, they lost more than they won, with a success rate of 47.9%, following a decade with a 54% success rate.

Deepest Blue State May Go Red?

Some news that may telegraph the November elections, from Libertarian Republican:

Maryland is the deepest of blue states. Martin O’Malley, a former top staffer for US Senator Barbara Mikulski is one of the most hardened leftwing radical Governors in the Nation. O’Malley raised the state income tax by 8 percent.

In 2005, O’Malley, then the Mayor of Baltimore, compared President Bush to a “9/11 Terrorist,” for his “massive spending cuts to local and state governments.”

Now a new poll has former Republican Governor Bob Ehrlich pulling ahead of O’Malley in a re-match of the 2006 contest where Ehrlich lost.

From Hedgehog:

GOVERNOR – MARYLAND (Magellan)

  • Bob Ehrlich (R) 46%
  • Martin O’Malley (D-inc) 43%

Democratic Nominee Holding An Obama/Hitler Poster

“Houston, We Have A Problem” is so apropos

Life is truly stranger than fiction. A previous post on this topic touches well on the cultic aspect of this political movement. I had lots of pics there, but this Big Government Picture is worth a thousand words.

Not only does this picture show Kesha Rogers holding the Obama/Hitler sign, but it even says it is paid for by her campaign on the bottom (click to enlarge):

This story (the LaRouche movement and recent political activity) is an old one… one that I commented on quite a while ago. These person’s even visited my old job once (Whole Foods):

Here is the BigGov post:

…the state-run media won’t run this photo.

They won’t publish this photo because it doesn’t fit their narrative. Remember last year when the Democratic-Media Complex reported that the tea party protesters were waving Obama-Hitler signs? What the media purposely omitted from their stories was the fact that the protesters waving these astroturfed Obama-Hitler signs were radical left-wing extremists. They were radical activists from the LaRouche organization. But, this didn’t fit the state-run media’s narrative that tea party activists were radicals and racists so they omitted this from their reports.

Earlier this year, the corrupt media and prominent democrats continued to smear tea party activists by reporting that the conservative protesters on Capitol Hill harassed Black Caucus members, called them the n-word, and spit at these Dems as they paraded though the tea party crowd on their way to ram nationalized health care through Congress. This was a lie. It never happened as video later revealed. However, the corrupt national media never retracted their story nor did they apologize despite the overwhelming amount of evidence that proved their racist accusations were complete fiction.

That’s why the media won’t show this photo of Democrat Kesha Rogers. It doesn’t fit their narrative.

Kesha won her primary last week. This Texas Democrat wants to impeach Obama and “take our troops out of the war zone and put them into space.” This makes about as much sense as the Obama-Pelosi “spend your way to wealth” plan, only not as dangerous. Don’t look for the media to give this Texas loon much attention in the months ahead.

Ballad of the Tea Party – Joel Pollak

This reminds me of the 80’s political spoof (really dig on 80’s conservatives), Bob Roberts. This video comes with thanks to Libertarian Republican.

The Ballad of the Tea Party

Written and Performed by Joel Pollak (R)

Nominee for Congress – 9th District, Illinois

Chicago Tax Day Tea Party

Daley Plaza, Chicago, Illinois

April 15, 2010

On a cold night in Boston, three ships in the dock

With their valuable cargo still waiting to stock

But the colonists wont pay the duty on tea

And the governor wont let the ships out to sea

(Chorus)

Sing – hey, hey, what do we say?

American freedom is here to stay!

Hey, hey, what do we say?

Dont tax our freedom away!

Now the Crown has been adding new fees by the score

And the people dont think they can bear any more

Yet they dont have a vote, so they dont have a say

And theyre starting to talk about breaking away

(Chorus)

Now the people have gathered round the Old Meeting House

If the governor listens, theyll still hear him out

But Sam Adams, he reads the report with a frown

So the people decide that the tea must do down

(Chorus)

So they don their disguises and clamber aboard

And the governors tea is soon tossed overboard

And the news spreads throughout the thirteen colonies

That our countrys new motto is Dont Tread On Me.

(Chorus)

Now today we have gathered–young, old, black, and white

And weve all got the vote, so we dont need to fight

But if Washington taxes our future away

Then well throw them all out on Election Day!

(Chorus)
