Paul Ryan Takes Sen. Reids Fiscal Plan to Task

A great example of this comes from when Bush was President.

Draconian Cuts
During Bush’s last run, I heard a lot of politikal talk about Bush cutting veteran benefits by 2-million dollars. “Bush is putting these vets in the poor house, “ or, “Bush doesn’t care about the military veterans.” What is a person suppose to think if Bush is cutting 2-billion dollars out of veteran benefits? Well, as you can see from the graph below, this is merely a play on words/deeds. Bush was originally going to raise the benefits by almost 5-billion, but decided to trim the proposed increase for the next fiscal year by 2-billion. The opposing side took this decrease and used it as if Bush was actually cutting benefits, when in fact he was increasing them by 3-billion. In fact, as shown, Bush seems more compassionate about the veterans than do the opposing sides “cigar aficionado.”

Muslim Spring Turning into Muslim Hell-With Thanks to the Radical Left

Keep in mind Marxists and Socialists helped topple the regime. From the NY Times:

As my colleague Anthony Shadid reports, tens of thousands of Egyptians poured into Tahrir Square on Friday for a day that had been billed as one of unified protest against the interim military government. But the turnout was lopsided, dominated by members of religious movements, ranging from the most conservative, the Salafists, to the relatively moderate Muslim Brotherhood.

According to The Associated Press, instead of chanting “The people want to topple the regime,” a slogan heard at protests across the Arab world this year, from Tahrir Square to Tunisia, demonstrators called out, “The people want to implement Sharia,” a strict code of Islamic law.

This video, which was posted on YouTube on Friday, is said to show the Salafists, many of them wearing skullcaps and conservative attire, walking toward Tahrir Square. Men in T-shirts and baseball caps look on as they pass by.

The United States will have a permanent presence in Australia~Good for Australia and Good for America (Ties that Bond)

From Apache Clips:

It was rumoured and today it was confirmed. The United States will have a permanent presence in Australia. This is the best news of my life. Theres 250 million rabid Indonesians a punt kick from our shores. The Chinese are making their presence felt in the tiny Pacific Nations and Papua New Guinea. The Ruskies have designs on our Antarctic Territory, so an old ally is more than welcome IMHO. Not all Aussies will welcome this, we are after all a democracy. However the protest will be nothing like if this had been announced in the 70s 80s or 90s. The protest generation has shrunk. Kids are too smart nowdays, they will mostly want Uncle Sam down here. There is already a mini America in the Northern Territory including Pine Gap listening station. Up there the yanks get their cars shipped over and anything else from home, so its kinda odd to see US number plates driving around, yank accents in the streets, its very weird. For people like me, it means more ships and planes to see! So far both Governments have gone out of their way to avoid the term “bases”. China has in the past accused Australia of being the southern pincer of the American crab. Gotta love their wicked talk. Its a pity, because the chinese have been here since the Gold Rush in the 1840s. We kinda like me, they love a beer, a bet, swear, dont like governments, generally fit in very well, unlike their Government.

Battle to Have Video Posted on the Internet Won-Questioning of Gasland Documentary Creator Back Up!

This from the email I received from the person doing the questioning in the above video (http://www.noteviljustwrong.com/):

We wanted you to be the first to know that we have been victorious over the attempts to censor our journalism. As you know, Phelim’s questioning of Josh Fox, the director of Gasland, was removed from YouTube after Fox used his expensive lawyers to make a false copyright claim.

Well, after a lengthy appeals process we have won and YouTube has restored our video which shows Fox being forced to admit that he behaved unethically and withheld important facts from viewers.

These facts would have completely undermined a central thesis of Gasland and, pushed into a corner, Phelim forced Fox to admit that he knew the facts but withheld them because “they were not relevant”.

Well, Fox’s admission of this unethical behavior was starting to go viral, with the exchange being covered by Fox Business, American Family Radio

G. Gordon Liddy and Big Hollywood among others. So Fox and his lawyers have it removed from YouTube. It seems that Josh Fox does not like criticism and dissent is not tolerated. We replied by setting up the Fight Gasland Censorship website whilst waiting for the YouTube appeals process to make a finding.

Well we have won this battle and you can now see Fox’s dramatic admissions – here.

Please send the link to anyone you think might be interested in seeing how environmentalists simply ignore facts that contradict their ideology.

I had to scramble and replace the videos on this site and Video Row with a standin provided by Ann & Phelim. So post this vid… make it viral again.

A Key Computer Model from Global Warming Alarmists falls to the Satellite evidence (Plus: the Bear Necessities)

Yahoo News reports that NASA is showing greater heat loss through the atmosphere than environmental alarmists (like Al Gore in his Inconvenient “documentary”) thought:

NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.

Study co-author Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite, reports that real-world data from NASA’s Terra satellite contradict multiple assumptions fed into alarmist computer models.

“The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show,” Spencer said in a July 26 University of Alabama press release. “There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans.”

In addition to finding that far less heat is being trapped than alarmist computer models have predicted, the NASA satellite data show the atmosphere begins shedding heat into space long before United Nations computer models predicted.

The new findings are extremely important and should dramatically alter the global warming debate.

Yahoo also is reporting on possible fraud in that article about polar bears that caused such a fervor and large movement to “save them”:

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Just five years ago, Charles Monnett was one of the scientists whose observation that several polar bears had drowned in the Arctic Ocean helped galvanize the global warming movement.

Now, the wildlife biologist is on administrative leave and facing accusations of scientific misconduct.

The federal agency where he works told him he was on leave pending the results of an investigation into “integrity issues.” A watchdog group believes it has to do with the 2006 journal article about the bear, but a source familiar with the investigation said late Thursday that placing Monnett on leave had nothing to with scientific integrity or the article.

Gateway Pundit chimes in on the polar Bear “deaths” versus the facts:

Then the truth started leaking out. After democrats passed their junk science “pile of sh*t” Cap and Trade legislation in June 2009 a report was released, and suppressed, that showed that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, were much higher than they were 30 years ago. In fact, it’s about time for a cull.

Polar bear numbers in Canada have increased in 11 of 13 regions in recent years. Polar bear encounters on the North Slope oil fields have risen to record levels the last two years. There are 5 times as many polar bears today as there were 50 years ago:

[….]

Despite the fact that the bear populations are booming, the Obama administration set aside 187,000 square miles in Alaska as a “critical habitat” for polar bears recently. The action that could restrict future drilling for oil and gas development.

Now, to top it all off, we find out the scientists who first reported on drowned polar bears is under investigation and likely fabricated the story.

The French Reject Same-Sex Marriage

(This is with thanks to Freepers) Weekend Libertarian notes some under reported news coming out of France:

Same-sex marriage (for now) is coming to the liberal-leaning state of New York. But in Europe, last month, traditional marriage received an even bigger victory, when France’s lower house of parliament rejected a bill that would have allowed homosexuals to marry. Or as the UMP lawmaker Michel Diefenbacher explained, “We are against homophobia but we do not want to alter the image and function of marriage in the collective subconscious.” And, so it was. Tradition prevailed.

But thanks to herd politics, a media silence ruled for one result, and a celebration was arranged for another. In all truth, unprofessional campaigning journalists were too emotional, siding with “marriage equality” activists over balance.*

My critical-thinking concerns run deeper than report stacking though, because as the social psychologist and sociologist, Gustave Le Bon, also known as the father of groupthink, understood, in-crowd psychology is a schizophrenic creature.

The group psychology is interesting here. And it reinforces my concerns: Good news for traditionalists is often no news. Good news for media-approved activists is the news. There are numerous examples. In an ideal world, journalists would step away from activists. Often they’re running with them.

[….]

As a critical-thinking European-Australian, I’m happy to provide reasons for my same-sex marriage opposition: psychological, sociological, political, secular, interfaith, historical, biological, and archaeological. But, one just needs to observe how the friends of the bourgeois “equality” movement treat critical-thinking groups.

There’s a reason why the French are fond of saying, “Ill-gotten gains seldom prosper.” While I feel gay marriage will destroy itself over the long-term, we have an obligation to demand professional journalism now for democracy, and for society’s collective subconscious.
