Participation Trophies

Should kids be given trophies for playing sports, even when they don’t win? Are participation trophies a good or bad thing for young athletes? Former Olympian and LA Galaxy soccer star Cobi Jones shares his thoughts.

Here is some commentary (my own) from another post on my site:

….Today, however, with a generation growing up with getting PARTICIPATION TROPHIES for anything they were involved in, passing out birthday cards to everyone in a classroom so people’s feelings are not hurt, or not playing sports that would have competition as its goal (winners or losers) or exclude a gender… elite is the entire swath of progressive liberals.

Some may not even know how to classify themselves as fitting into this camp. They may not have even the tools presented to them through high-school and college to self reflect on their worldview. It doesn’t matter, even if they do not know they have a worldview guiding their lives, they have allowed progressivism to do it for them, blinded by good intentions, not knowing every tyranny was for “good intentions.”

  • “All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.” ~ Mein Kampf (1935)

Who are the liberal elite? Half our nation. Elitist in the idea of their hubris and ego (controlling gender and weather through legislation, and changing God’s or Natures edict of the ideal environment to raise children). All have given themselves a pat on their back and a PARTICIPATION TROPHY. Elitist in that they have rejected 5-to-6 thousand years of man (written history) applying things to see if they work or do not work. Elite in their vacuous “atta boys.” Elite in the fact that they have swallowed empty accolades and propaganda dressed up as “equality.”

LEGENDS in their own minds.

The men who wrote our Founding Documents were students of history and philosophy, religious and political.

The Elites of today are students of their own good-pleasure or in a constant flux of emotive states… doing only what makes them tickled pink inside.

Trump vs. FBI – CNN Legal Analyst Changes Mind

Prager plays and comments on Paul Callan’s change of mind on Trump and others “slamming” of the FBI (REAL CLEAR POLITICS). Apparently, this deep bias wasn’t just in the leaders of these investigations, but in the grand jury.

This was a comment on the latest upload of mine from YouTube (posted on LIVELEAK):

  • Keep convincing yourself the whole FBI is corrupt and it’s not just Trump. What makes more sense?

The problem is that the evidence is saying something different. If they were as “clean” and “noble” as I have been told, they should have recuse themselves — like Sessions. But by not doing so the cards are being played and the poker faces are melting away…. here is my response:

  • That the same three or four guys at the FBI (that were getting money directly from the DNC or that had wives working at GPS Fusion and exonerated Hillary and mentioned a “fail-safe” for defeating Trump is he won) are corrupt… that is where the evidence points. No one is saying the W-H-O-L-E FBI. Dumb.

Another comment from my YouTube notes this: “The more CNN squeezes the more the anti-Trump narrative slips from their fingers.” Yep.

Democrat Slight of Hand | Dan Bongino

I have heard Obama is tougher on immigration than Trump, always seeing a number in the millions regarding how many illegal immigrants he has deported. NOT!

Dan does what any media personality with half-a-brain should be doing. THAT IS, expressing simple common sense/logic.

Skewing stats via hiding inflation.

This is too funny! For some laughs, go to TWITCHY! Here is a comment from a forum:

  • ….if outlets like USA Today are going to “help” Dems by providing these sorts of examples for the next year, I’d say Republicans are going to be in good shape. (https://tinyurl.com/ybmjzyfh)

Top 20% Pay 95% Of Income Taxes

The Bill Gates Income Tax | Arthur Laffer

THE BILL GATES INCOME TAX (WALL STREET JOURNAL)
If Washington’s most famous billionaires are really worried about their state’s finances, they’d write personal checks to the government and leave everyone else alone.

Bill Gates Sr. has personally contributed $500,000 to promote a statewide proposition on Washington’s November ballot that would impose a brand new 5 percent tax on individuals earning over $200,000 per year and couples earning over $400,000 per year.  An additional 4 percent surcharge would be levied on individuals and couples earning more than $500,000 and $1 million, respectively.

Doing so would put the state’s economy at risk, says Arthur Laffer, chairman of Laffer Associates.

To imagine what such a large soak-the-rich income tax would do to Washington, we need only examine how states with the highest income-tax rates perform relative to their zero-income tax counterparts. Comparing the nine states with the highest tax rates on earned income to the nine states with no income tax shows how high tax rates weaken economic performance.

  • In the past decade, the nine states with the highest personal income tax rates have seen gross state product increase by 59.8 percent, personal income grow by 51 percent and population increase by 6.1 percent.
  • The nine states with no personal income tax have seen gross state product increase by 86.3 percent, personal income grow by 64.1 percent and population increase by 15.5 percent.

Over the past 50 years, 11 states have introduced state income taxes exactly as Washington is proposing — and the consequences have been devastating, says Laffer.

  • Each and every state that introduced an income tax saw its share of total U.S. output decline.
  • Some of the states, like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio, have become fiscal basket cases.
  • Even West Virginia, which was poor to begin with, got relatively poorer after adopting a state income tax.
  • Over the past decade, the nine states with the highest tax rates have experienced tax revenue growth of 74 percent — a full 22 percent less than the states with no income tax.

How To Turbocharge The American Economy

“Small businesses are the engine of the American economy.”

Roughly half of the United States’ workforce depends on small businesses thriving. But high taxes and intrusive government regulations hurt these businesses and their workers. How would tax cuts for these small businesses benefit the U.S. economy and help just about everyone?

Russian Dossier Center Of Real Russian Probe!

As Republicans turn up the heat on the Russia investigation, the media and liberals are doing their best to change the subject. David Webb, Larry Elder, Marc Lotter, Gregg Jarrett.

Gregg Jarrett fills in for Lou Dobbs Tonight | Greg talks about the Deputy Director for the FBI, his connection to the partisanship in the Mueller probe as well cuts to the UN budget done in the name of the American people.

Leftist Scare Tactics About Tax Bill

Larry Elder plays CBS’ tax special with three families (watch the CBS video here at TOWNHALL) from different incomes: (a) little under $40,000 a year; (b) more than $150,000 a year; (c) couple’s combined income was $300,000. Turns out ALL THREE will get a tax return. The Democrats know they are in trouble!

CBO’s Underwhelming Prediction For The Tax-Code Outcome

I excerpted the very end of a larger post over at POWERLINE and received a challenge of sorts from a friend:

….It’s always nice when these folks let the mask slip and reveal their hatred of individual freedom and capitalism, and the open embrace of a statism that is indistinguishable from fascism. Lukacs’s conclusion is: Jeremy Corbin will save us! You can expect the same impulse to dominate the Democratic Party as it heads toward 2020. Elizabeth Warren or Bernie will save us! Anything less than this will not be tolerated by the increasingly leftist base of the Democratic Party. And this is the best thing Trump has going for him.

Here is the challenge:

  • But it’s not just the left Sean, with a 30% ( being generous ) approval rating, this means a lot of Conservatives aren’t on board either. I personally know a few fiscal conservatives that would’ve voted no strictly due to what it adds to our debt. How do you square this?

Fair question. I respond:

This is how I square it. These fiscal conservatives do not, apparently, believe in a fiscal conservative “gods” edict:

➤ “I am favor of cutting taxes under any circumstances and for any excuse, for any reason, whenever it’s possible.” — MILTON FRIEDMAN

Also, the press is pushing the CBO’s idea that growth will not be over 1.8% for ten years… um… yeah. So these fiscal conservatives are taking the -under 2% approach when the coming quarter will be 3.8%

Every 1% in growth the deficit is reduced [over ten years] by 3-trillion dollars (Just over 4-minutes):
