CNN Takes Apart Obama Super-PAC Ad Blaming Romney for Woman’s Cancer Death (Plus: Who Is the Real Murderer?)

Hot Air has this quick comment in their post on the matter, entitled, “CNN: Wife of steelworker in new Obama Super PAC ad still had job and health insurance after he lost his.”

There appears to be no actual policy or business critique here. It’s just a string of events spread over five whole years, with certain key data omitted, and you’re supposed to infer causation without really being told why or how.

Via NewsBusters:

Red State has this:

The Obama supporting Super PAC Priorities USA yesterday introduced us to Joe Soptic. Mitt Romney killed his wife. Except it is complete and utter crap.

Mitt Romney and Bain Capital bought GST Steel at some point. Romney left day to day operations of Bain in 1999. Thereafter, Bain offered Joe Soptic a buy out and he refused. Eventually the steel plant went out of business and Joe went on the unemployment line. That happened in 2001.

In 2002 or 2003, Mrs. Soptic injured her rotator cuff and left her job. She lost her insurance. In 2006, she was diagnosed with cancer and died a few days later. It is a terrible tragedy that Mitt Romney had nothing to do with.

It seems Mr. Soptic chose poorly on the buy out offer, lost his job, and would prefer to blame Mitt Romney than anyone else. Priorities USA has set a new standard — Mitt Romney killed a woman, despite being removed from both time of death and decision making.

We need far less than the convoluted logic of Priorities USA to conclude that Barack Obama is a murderer.

He is covered in Brian Terry’s blood.

Brian Terry was a border patrol agent.

Barack Obama’s Administration — while Obama was serving as President — started Operation Fast and Furious. An American fire arms dealer, working with the Obama Administration, sold a fire arm to a Mexican gun runner who took the gun into Mexico to use in the ongoing drug/civil war.

That gun came back across the border in the hands of someone who used it to kill Brian Terry.

There is a much more direct link between Barack Obama and Brian Terry’s murder than between Mitt Romney and Ilyona Soptic’s death from cancer.

If we are playing by Priorities USA’s rules, from here on out we can refer to Barack Obama as a murderer, considering his administration made the decisions that led to Brian Terry’s murder at a time period when Barack Obama was still on the job.

Take note that Bain spent 100-million dollars to try and save Joe Soptic’s Job:

And Yet, the Black Community Support Democrats

In the following short clip you will hear a conversation a few folks with OSA had with Ron Virmani, an abortionist from Charlotte , NC on July 26th, 2012.

As this conversation escalates you will be shocked at what you hear come out of the mouth of this abortionist!

This man whom kills unborn life for a living justifies his profession by claiming he is helping society by lessening the burden on tax payers by killing unborn babies. Also you’ll notice he admits to what he is killing…he’s not removing a blob of tissue, or a fetus…he is killing a baby or as he describes some of the babies as ‘ugly black babies’!

Tea Party at Fault for Batman Shooting! Did the Shooting Imitated a Scene in 1986 Comic? ~ Plus Rotten Tomatoes Story

From Beltway Confidential, the Examiner:

The horrific shooting at the screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado late last night bears eerie similarities to a scene in the 1986 comic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. In the comic, a crazed, gun-toting loner walks into a movie theater and begins shooting it up, killing three in the process. The passage concludes with the media blaming Batman for inspiring the shooting, though he is not involved in the incident at all.

The 1986 comic, written and drawn by Frank Miller, was a key inspiration for the Chris Nolan Batman films. It helped to reimagine the character away from his Saturday morning cartoon image and into a dark, grim avenger. The point of this particular scene in the comic was to show just how far Gotham has fallen since Batman had retired….

I didn’t post on this (almost did when the story hit — July 18th), but this story makes me chronicle this violent trend with batman fans… really just a commentary on “just how far Gotham has fallen.”

CNN:

Ratings for “The Dark Knight Rises” have dipped a bit on movie review aggregation site RottenTomatoes.com, sitting at 86 percent fresh after a series of written standing ovations arrived earlier this week.

Clearly, a rating like that means the majority of critics were pretty pleased with Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, but as far as those who weren’t? Extreme commenter backlash.

On Monday, Rotten Tomatoes had to shut down its comments on “The Dark Knight Rises” reviews because fans who disagreed with the few negative opinions were rabidly expressing their distaste.

[….]

“I really did not expect this level of response,” Fine said. “I knew it would probably be controversial just because I was the first negative one, and the first person to bust the 100 percent always comes in for some negative response,  but it was like a tsunami.” (A tsunami that also crashed his website for a time.)

The second fire-starting critique, written by the AP’s Christy Lemire, led to “several hours” of Atchity and his team “removing comments with misogynistic or threatening remarks” from the review, and the eventual disabling of comments.

Atchity ended up updating his open letter to state that comments on “The Dark Knight Rises” reviews would be down for a couple of days, and he told the New York Times Tuesday that he expects them to be up and running again Thursday or Friday, once more reviews are posted and more people have seen the film to be able to have a fruitful discussion.

His advice to commenters in the meantime was to “Just take a deep breath, step away from the computer, and maybe go for a walk. Have a smoke if you need one. There are plenty of other things to get angry about, like war, famine, poverty and crime. But not movie reviews.”

Progressive Ideology Warps Judgment from Papa Giorgio on Vimeo.

Of course Republicans and their policies are already being blamed, as Gateway Pundit points out:

The Colorado Shooter is a possible registered Democrat.

Despite this: Rush Limbaugh, the Tea Party and guns have already been blamed for the massacre.

The University of Colorado Medical School says shooting suspect was student there but withdrew last month. Suspect James Holmes described himself on a rental application as a ‘quiet and easygoing’ medical student.

There is an email account listed at the University of Colorado for Doctoral Student James Holmes.

Here are the Good Morning America crew (thanks TownHall!):

Stephanolpoulos: I’m going to go to Brian Ross. You’ve been investigating the background of Jim Holmes here. You found something that might be significant.

Ross: There’s a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now, we don’t know if this is the same Jim Holmes. But it’s Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado.

Stephanolpoulos: Okay, we’ll keep looking at that. Brian Ross, thanks very much.

Brian Ross now admits that he had it wrong, but I doubt yo will ever here the registered party affiliation if the shooter is not a Republican!

Vacation (Alaska and then Idaho) ~ Doing the Opposite of `Climate Refugees` (see below)

Headed to Alaska on a cruise and then inland for a family function. I will not be up and running (I do have two Serious Saturdays set to automatically appear [below this post] over the next two Saturdays) till after the 5th of August. Have fun hunting for stories my fellow Religio-Political conservatives. Of course my trip wouldn’t be complete without posting thatAGW alarmists use the earth’s wobble to say “climate change” is man’s fault:

Real Science:

This is just what they warned us about. Global warming is forcing people to move south to warmer climates.

Cold Winter and Summer Have Some Ready to Leave Alaska

After record-breaking winter, cool summer is a bummer

ANCHORAGE – After a record-breaking winter, we are now headed for one of the coldest months of July on record.
And it has some Alaskans thinking it may be time to leave the great land.

By Alaska summer standards, it’s been a pretty cool and gloomy start to the beginning of July.

The temps may be setting records, but it’s not the first summer that’s been less than sunny – and some people say they’ve had enough.

Who’s colder today: Anchorage or Barrow, Alaska?

By Alaska’s summer standards, it’s been cool in South-Central Alaska this month and especially this week. (By lower 48 standards, it’s flat out cold). It’s been so cool in Anchorage that for the past two days (July 11 and 12) high temperatures have been colder than Barrow, the 9th northermost city in the world, which is more than 700 miles to the north of Alaska’s largest city.

On July 11, Anchorage had a high temperature of 56º. July 12 topped out at 54º. Both days set records for the lowest maximum temperature. And for all of July thus far, no day at the Anchorage Forecast office has seen a daily high at or above the average (65-66º). [Climate log: http://bit.ly/N6aIAZ]

Moreover, July is normally the warmest month of the year on average in Anchorage. This July is the coldest on record (so far) by more than 1.5º with an average monthly temperature of 52.7º. The coolest July on record occurred in 1920 with an average monthly temperature of 54.4º.
