Here is a bit about the above pic via Breitbart:
The Milwaukee Police Department has reported that the armed man whose death sparked rioting over the weekend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had a long police record and was even the subject of a case of witness intimidation.
The man who allegedly ran from police after a traffic stop and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun has been identified as Milwaukee resident Sylville K. Smith, 23.
Milwaukee mayor, Democrat Tom Barrett said during a Sunday press conference that Smith “without question” had a gun in his hand when police confronted him on Saturday afternoon. In fact, Barrett insisted Smith had “more firepower than the officer,” according to the Daily Mail.
Indeed Smith has a record of handling firearms. At least one social media image of Smith shows him pointing a handgun with an extended magazine at the camera while another shows him holding a rifle. And last year the suspect was brought in on charges in connection with a shooting, but the charges were dismissed….
Here is the bottom line — besides the officer protecting himself from a criminal who was black himself:
Sylville K. Smith, 23, was identified Sunday as the subject of a Saturday afternoon traffic stop that turned deadly when Smith allegedly ran from officers and then turned toward one with a gun in his hand.
Both Smith and the unidentified officer who shot him are black, Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn said.
“The individual did turn toward the officer with a firearm in his hand,” said Flynn, later adding that Smith “was raising up with” the gun.
Flynn said he had viewed the body camera footage, which had not yet been released to the public. The entire incident lasted 20-25 seconds in Flynn’s estimation. While the camera captures the shooting there is no sound of the critical moments because Milwaukee police body cameras do not begin recording audio for 30 seconds, Flynn said.
Police officers could be seen on the footage administering CPR to Smith, who was hit in his chest and arm, Flynn said….
