Yesterday, Cedra Crenshaw defeated the Chicago Democrat machine and won her rightful spot on the ballot this November. Voters in Illinois’ 43rd Senate District will now get a choice, not a coronation. A white Democrat election board threw her off the ballot and a judge restored her.
