Patrick Moore explains why he helped to create Greenpeace, and why he decided to leave it. What began as a mission to improve the environment for the sake of humanity became a political movement in which humanity became the villain and hard science a non-issue.

You see… down deep all these “freedom of speech” guys who say they are libertarian or for freedom of thought — are really small tyrant down deep. The Left always falls into what is in their nature.

Religious Tolerance: Made in America by Protestants
Religious tolerance is a given in the West. But it’s a historical aberration — an ideological revolution created by the Puritans and pre-1776 Americans. What was it that led to the religious tolerance revolution? Was there something unique in Protestantism and Americanism? Or would tolerance have eventually arisen elsewhere, perhaps in Europe? Larry Schweikart, best-selling author and professor of history at the University of Dayton, explains.
The Piecemeal Dismemberment On Religious Liberties Continues
Legal Insurrection notes the following melee churches find themselves in since the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling:
Less than 48 hours after the decision was handed down, New York Times columnist Mark Oppenheimer called for the end of tax exemptions for religious institutions.
And the piecemeal dismemberment on religious liberties continues.
Now infamous for their intolerance of Christianity, Oregon continues to be ground zero for theBiblical Principles vs. Ideological Fascism showdown.
National Reviewâs David French explains an emerging problem for Oregonian pastors seeking liability insurance.
Churches, like virtually every functioning corporation, protect against liability risks and the potentially ruinous costs of litigation through liability insurance. With same-sex marriage now recognized as a constitutional right â and with news of Oregonâs Bureau of Labor and Industries awarding a lesbian couple $135,000 in damages for âemotional, mental and physical sufferingâ after a Christian bakery refused to bake their wedding cake â pastors are reaching out to insurance companies to make sure theyâre covered. And at least one insurer has responded with a preemptory denial: no coverage if a church is sued for refusing to perform a same-sex wedding.
While denying insurance coverage is not itself an encroachment of religious liberty, lack of protection is as much a problem; one that could easily sink any independent church that winds up the defendant of a complaint….
Here is more from the National Review article (h/t to Jim G.), For Churches That Wonât Perform Same-Sex Weddings, Insurance Begins to Look Iffy
In the aftermath of Obergefell v. Hodges, pastors and church members are experiencing a wave of anxiety over what many of them deem the ânightmare scenarioâ: lawsuits or government action designed to force them to perform or recognize same-sex marriages. While there are â so far â no meaningful judicial precedents that would permit such dramatic interference with churchesâ core First Amendment rights, lawsuits challenging church liberties are inevitable.
Indeed, the Iowa Civil Rights Commission has declared that prohibitions against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity âsometimesâ apply to churches and has stated that a âchurch service open to the publicâ is not a âbona fide religious purposeâ that would limit application of the law. In 2012 a New Jersey administrative-law judge ruled that a religious organization âclosely associated with the United Methodist Churchâ wrongly denied access to its facilities for a same-sex wedding.
On July 1, David Karns, vice president of underwriting at Southern Mutual Church Insurance Company (which âserve[s] more than 8,400 churchesâ), wrote an âall statesâ agentsâ bulletin addressing same-sex marriage. It begins: âWe have received numerous calls and emails regarding the Supreme Courtâs ruling on same-sex marriages. The main concern is whether or not liability coverage applies in the event a church gets sued for declining to perform a same-sex marriage.â Karns continues:
The general liability form does not provide any coverage for this type of situation, since there is no bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, or advertising injury. If a church is concerned about the possibility of a suit, we do offer Miscellaneous Legal Defense Coverage. This is not liability coverage, but rather expense reimbursement for defense costs. There is no coverage for any judgments against an insured.
In other words: Churches, youâre on your own. (National Review has tried to reach Mr. Karns and Southern Mutualâs corporate office, and they have not yet returned our calls.)
[…..]
Yet, as of July 1, it appears that thousands of American churches are more exposed than they imagined….
Tony Perkins comments on the Democrat Party, in a similar (although not in the same context and depth) fashion to Democrat Candidate Jim Webb when he said: “The party has moved way far to the left, and thatâs not my Democratic Party.”
…On one hand, the Left is trying to cripple churchesâ ability to fight back, and on the other, theyâre trying to strip away protections for the everyday believer. Like most liberals, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz isnât hiding the fact that religious liberty is next on her kill list, especially for individual Americans. âI think [our country] made the distinction between protecting the First Amendment rights for religious organizations or religiously-affiliated organizations and being able to discriminate, broadly, simply because of one individual who owns a business and their own values and their being able to impose those values on either their employers or their customers,â she told CBNâs David Brody.
Once again, liberals are setting up the faulty argument that religious exercise must be confined to institutions â not individuals. As any constitutional scholar would tell you, thatâs a deliberate distortion of the First Amendment! Itâs like saying the Second Amendment only applies in gun clubs. The reality is, and the Founders understood, religious liberty is a fundamental human freedom. In fact, it was Eleanor Roosevelt â from Wasserman-Schultzâs own party â who chaired the drafting committee of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. And it could not be more clear: â[E]veryone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.â
Whatâs happened to the Democratic Party? After 70 years, thereâs nothing âdemocraticâ about it!
A Definition of “So-So” Stories of Evolution Defined ~ Spetner
Here is a quote, and really, a definition of the general theory of evolution (GTE) that G.A. Kerkut defines in his older text, Implication of Evolution (second quote). Here Spetner calls it the neo-Darwinian theory (NDT), it more common name today. Here is Spetner’s relevant quote:

Enjoy the Show as the Left Eats Itself (Jefferson & Jackson Out)
I have said for quite some time that the Left eats itself. From Hillary and O’Malley having to backtrack for statements that “all lives matter,” to the same activist group interrupting Bernie Sanders (I guess he is not left enough?), to this new occurrence via CT-Post.com:
Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are history in Connecticut.
Under pressure from the NAACP, the state Democratic Party will scrub the names of the two presidents from its annual fundraising dinner because of their ties to slavery.
Party leaders voted unanimously Wednesday night in Hartford to rename the Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner in the aftermath of last monthâs fatal shooting of nine worshipers at the historic black church in Charleston, S.C….
Maybe this will get Democrats to see their history fully?

Debating Gay Myths, Africa, and AIDS ~ Not God (Updated)
First Published November of 2011
As I am want to do at various times and seasons, is debate hot topic issues. I do not normally do this but rather those who wish dialogue find me out. Case in point, a post elsewhere on the Net about water bottles quickly led to talk about female hormones and HIV/AIDS. I know, its crazy right? Here is where the conversation gets good:
To which my young antagonist responded:
As you can seer this convo is rolling along now. Not only do I have to deal with an engrained myth of 10% of the population is gay, I have to answer the topic of “the porn industry.” Fun time!
Here is the response to my post:
Firstly, one should note God was never part of our discussion. This is telling. I used references to gay authors, court cases, articles, and the like. The fact still remains that in America the gay population is 1.7% but make up over 70% of the AIDS cases. Now the antagonist in the picture is bringing in worldwide statistics on AIDS, not only that, but also has imported God into the picture! I never used theology or my faith to make any of the points. In fact, I will post here the referenced blog I did on the stats aspect of this:
Michael Medvedâs article on a recent poll that the above radio show is based on (with emphasis thanks to Kicking the Darkness):Â
(Nope… not God in that post.) It is obvious to anyone that when backed in a corner many liberals merely start to use ad hominem attacks, creating straw-man arguments, and the like. I will come back to the African connection, as it is very important for the reader to be able to respond to such positions/”facts”. However, let us return to the conversation as found on the Net. So picking back up, here is my first response:
Still, the largest and most thorough study done yet puts the number of firmly gay people at 1.7%. Some studies put it at slightly more, some less.
So what about Africa? One of my favorite columnists/authors is Michael Fumento. He has some great insights into the problem of Africa. I will post his article on the issue, as, i think it is an important topic… I will highlight portions I think are fitting for this discussion. you will see Michael’s true care and concern near the end:
So what has been done in the above. The porn industry example was annihilated, the Africa example decimated, and the 10% myth blown apart, and the best available evidence puts AIDS as an epidemic in the bi-sexual, gay, and drug culture, except in Africa, where it is partly the medical fields issue as well. Why is this a problem with anal intercourse?
This is why any anal sex should be rejected even in hetero relationships/marriage.
Ahhh, just another day in the trenches… this one just a bit deeper than others.
